Welcome to Capitol Gun Club

Many people in the Jackson area do not know that one of the finest shotgun sports ranges in the Mid-South area is located in Northern Hinds County. We would like the opportunity to introduce you to our facility. We are located about 1/2 mile North of the intersection of Billy Bell/Cynthia Road and County Line Road in Northern Hinds County, not far from Hwy. 49.

Capitol Gun Club is devoted to providing shotgun shooting sports programs for the Jackson Mississippi area. The Club has five combination skeet and trap fields.  Capitol Gun Club has been at its present location for over forty years. The Club provides open membership to those interested in shotgun sports. The Club sponsors Amateur Trapshooting Association and National Skeet Shooting Association events for competitive shooters from surrounding states. Our major competitive shoots are designed for around a hundred shooters.  Capitol is normally open to the public on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons except when competitive shooting events are taking place.

The public is always welcome to join our members in our shotgun shooting sports.  Newcomers are briefed on gun safety and range rules when they arrive to sign up for shooting.  Our members gladly help newcomers with gun safety and shooting etiquette during practice rounds and also share tips on how to improve shotgun shooting skills.  Our goal is for your guests to fully enjoy their shooting experience.  Perhaps you are interested in sharpening your wing shooting skills.  Capitol has an excellent facility to prepare yourself before the season begins.

Organized groups desiring the use of the shooting ranges can negotiate special shooting hours.  We host events for business meetings, youth groups, private parties and other groups interested in private shooting programs.  Our members provide help for the groups for their enjoyment of shooting.

Open Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm (seasonally adjusted for shorter daylight hours) except when competitive shoots are taking place.
